John C. Hening, DDS

Dr. Hening was raised in the White Mountains of Northern New Hampshire. He came to Colorado to attend Western State College In Gunnison. He received his undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in chemistry and then went on to receive his dental degree at the University of Colorado in 1992. After graduation, John served four years as a dental officer in the US Navy Dental Corps. In 1996, Dr. Hening moved to Durango and assumed the practice of Dr. Forrest D. Brown. Dr. Hening is a Fellow of The Academy of General Dentistry and maintains active affiliations in the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Hening and his wife Etoile enjoy mountain biking, hiking, camping, and skiing with their family in the mountains surrounding Durango.

Deena was born and raised in Artesia, NM. She graduated from CNCC in Rangely, Colorado with a degree in Office/Business Administration, graduating with honors and as Outstanding Scholar. Deena enjoys spending time with her husband of 24 years and her two children 22 and 18 years old. Her hobbies are quilting, crafts, gardening, spending time with her animals and fishing with her husband.

Darla K. Papenhagen, CDA - Dental Assistant

Darla's roots are from the Midwest, where she completed a two year dental assisting program and has since acquired 12 years of dental experience. Darla enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and 6 year old son, either gardening and working around the house or biking and climbing in the area's surrounding mountains.

Tyler Moline, Dental Hygienist

Tyler Moline grew up in southern Oregon near the Rogue River. At the University of Oregon, he received his bachelors of science in music. After briefly living along the East Coast, Tyler found his way to the mountains of Colorado . He studied dental hygiene at San Juan College where he graduated with honors as a Merrion Distinguished Scholar. Tyler ’s hobbies include rafting, kayaking, camping, skiing, reading, running, mountain biking, playing his tuba and spending time outside with his wife and two big dogs.
